School BFF s in the Midlands

There’s something comforting about old friends. Carol, Sarah and I spent 1984 together in the confines of the Pink Prison. No, not a reform school, actually a highly respected all girl’s school in Harare. Life at Arundel influenced the lives of all who went to school there. Some positive and some negative. One thing for sure, it helped us form a bond, a friendship that is unconditional and I’d like to think eternal. There is no necessity for constant reassurance. The friendship just is.

Above are some photos taken in the Estate where Sarah and Tom live. Easy to see why so many people are choosing to return to these types of Estates after a hard days work. Together the Eastwick’s are building and creating beautiful homes for others to enjoy.

Tom has always had a Jackie that rides on the petrol tank of his motor bike. This is Bert 2 and Gail contemplating life in the Midlands. The Dane at the breakfast spot has a whole range of coffee named after him. Don’t think he could care a less. One has to reflect in places like these. Beautiful views, favourite friends, good food but also the place where Nelson Mandela was captured.

The commemorative statue is amazingly clever. History. How different would the world be if people were more tolerant and satisfied? Time for us to influence our own destiny. Next stop St Lucia.
